Wrist roller
A wrist roller has a short bar or handle with a cord fixed at the centre and a load hanging below. You hold the bar in both hands and turn it slowly, winding and unwinding the cord. The movement feels small but focused, and keeping the bar steady also asks your hands, wrists, forearms and shoulders to stay engaged.
You use it to build hand, wrist and forearm strength for everyday gripping, carrying and pulling tasks. Rolling the load upward works your grip, while controlled lowering helps you practise steady movement in the other direction. You can turn the bar with your palms facing down or up, changing where you feel the effort through your forearms.
It suits you if you want simple, focused grip training and are comfortable holding your arms steady. The roller stores easily, though you need clear floor space beneath it for the cord and load. You can scale the effort by changing the load or cord length. Begin with smooth, controlled turns; gently twisting a dry towel offers a simpler alternative.
