Stretching cage

With its tall frame, open sides and bars at several heights, a stretching cage gives you many places to hold while you move into a stretch. You usually stand inside or beside it, using the rails for balance and control. It feels sturdy and supportive, though the number of grips can seem unfamiliar at first.

You can use it for gentle flexibility and range-of-movement sessions, either on their own or around your usual activity. Holding a bar lets you steadily explore stretches for your shoulders, back, hips, calves and the backs of your thighs. It can also support controlled squats, side bends and hanging positions, depending on the cage design and your comfort.

It suits you if you value a fixed, steady support and have room for a tall frame with clear space around it. Most movements are easy to scale by changing your grip, stance or depth, but start with simple supported positions and check that the cage is secure. For a smaller home setup, a wall, doorway or sturdy chair may cover many basic stretches.
