Nautilus glute drive
With a glute drive machine, you sit against a broad padded backrest and secure a wide belt across your hips. Your feet rest on a raised platform while the backrest supports your upper back. As you lift and lower your hips, the movement feels guided and stable, with the belt spreading the resistance more comfortably than a narrow bar.
It is mainly used for controlled hip-lifting movements that strengthen your bottom, the back of your thighs and the muscles around your hips. You can pause near the top, move through a comfortable range, or work one side at a time once you feel steady. The fixed setup also lets you focus on the movement without balancing loose equipment.
This machine suits you if you want a supported way to practise hip lifts and prefer not to balance a bar across your hips. It takes up considerable floor space and may require separate plates, although the belt and resistance are straightforward to adjust. Start with a comfortable range and learn the setup first. At home, you can lift your hips from the floor instead.
