Macebell
A macebell has a long metal handle with most of its load gathered in a ball at one end. Because the load sits far from your hands, even a modest macebell can feel demanding and slightly unpredictable. You hold it with one or both hands, and its offset shape encourages smooth, controlled movement rather than quick, forceful handling.
You can use it for flowing strength and movement practice, especially around your shoulders, arms, upper back and middle. Common movements guide the weighted end around your head or across your body, while simpler options include presses, carries and squats. Changing your hand position alters the difficulty, and careful control helps you move the macebell along a clear path.
It can suit you if you enjoy varied, coordinated movement and already feel comfortable controlling an object overhead. Allow generous space around and above you, and begin with a light macebell because the long handle magnifies the load. Moving your hands nearer the weighted end makes many exercises easier. A broom handle is a useful everyday alternative for learning the route of a movement without added load.
