Landmine

With one end of a barbell held in a low pivoting sleeve, a landmine gives you a long handle that moves in a smooth arc. You stand, bend or kneel at the free end, which may be held directly or fitted with a handle. The anchored path feels steadier than moving a loose bar through open space.

You can use it for steady whole-body strength training, including pressing the bar away from your chest or shoulder, pulling it towards you, and rising from a lowered position. It also supports controlled turning movements that involve your waist and shoulders. Because the bar follows an arc, you can practise these movements with a clear, predictable route.

It suits you if you want varied strength work with more guidance than a free barbell gives. The anchor is compact, but the full bar needs clear floor space to move in different directions. You can scale the effort by changing plates, your hand position or your stance. Begin with the bar alone and learn the arc slowly; a loaded backpack can cover simpler movements at home.
