EZ curl bar

Easy curl bar

With its gently angled shaft and short plate-loading ends, an EZ curl bar looks like a compact barbell with a repeated zigzag through the middle. The bends let you hold it with your hands turned slightly inward, which many people find more comfortable than a straight bar. It feels stable in both hands and keeps them moving together.

You can use it for controlled strength training, especially movements that bend and straighten your arms. It works well for bringing the bar towards your shoulders from standing or seated positions, and for lifting it overhead before lowering it behind you. You can also use it for some chest, shoulder and back movements, provided the grip and range feel natural.

It suits you if you want to train with both hands on one bar but find a straight grip awkward. It takes little floor space, though you need clear room around you and somewhere secure to store it. Removable plates make the resistance straightforward to adjust; check that they are secured before lifting. Dumbbells or a resistance band offer simpler alternatives for similar arm movements.
