Elastic band
Light and flexible, an elastic band is a long strip or loop of stretchy material that creates resistance as you pull it apart. It feels gentle at first, then becomes harder to stretch as the tension builds. Bands come in different strengths and lengths, and they are quiet, easy to handle, and simple to position around your hands, feet, or legs.
You can use a band for steady strength and flexibility practice at home, outdoors, or while travelling. Pulling, pressing, stepping, and controlled arm or leg movements can work your shoulders, back, chest, arms, hips, and thighs. You can also use it to add support to a movement or practise moving slowly through a comfortable range.
It suits you if you want adaptable resistance without making much room for equipment. A band folds into a drawer or bag, and you can change the difficulty by choosing a different strength, shortening your grip, or altering how far you stretch it. Start with secure footing and check the band for damage. A towel can sometimes replace it for gentle stretching, but it will not provide the same resistance.
